1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ScanKaro ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Service Description

ScanKaro is an AI-powered food label scanning service that analyzes packaged food labels sold in India. The Service uses optical character recognition and algorithmic analysis to provide health scores, ingredient breakdowns, nutrition evaluations, and misleading claim detection. The Service is available via web application.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account information.
  • Not share your account with others.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
  • Not create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

ScanKaro offers both free and paid subscription plans. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:

  • Pay the applicable subscription fees as displayed at the time of purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Fees are charged in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes.
  • Refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy.

5. Accuracy Disclaimer

ScanKaro provides health scores and food analysis for informational purposes only. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical or nutritional advice. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all label readings are 100% error-free due to variations in label printing quality, image clarity, and OCR limitations. Users with specific dietary requirements, allergies, or medical conditions should always verify ingredient information directly on the product packaging and consult a qualified healthcare professional.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScanKaro and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from dietary decisions made based on information provided by the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

7. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through a notice on the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
